Prairiebaby The Promised Rain PP

"Alaska"

Reserved!

Breeder/Owner: Judith Schulz

Polydactyl on all four feet (6/7/6/6)

Masterweaver Snowshoes!

F6, ca. 40 % new foundation

Color: Blue eyed White

Born: October 22, 2009

Temperament: Offensively affectionate. She  purrs and rolls over the minute she sees me. She gives stormy kisses and loves to be right in my face. Her character is extremely people dependant, outgoing and a little sassy at times. Alaska loves Hazel!

Size/Weight: Boy size, XL, 15 pounds at 16 months. She is bulky and heavy and has mounds of coat. Carries massive size.

Note: To this day, it is not possible to show Polydactyl Maine Coons in Championship class.

A white, Polydactyl Maine Coon with blue eyes is probably as fancy as it gets in Maine Coon ville. Alaska's genotype is a Dilute Torbie or Tortie (with or whithout White, we don't know). She is one of our "best horses in the stable".

Test Results:

Will be tested for HCM in 2012

Sire HCM negative at age 3.8

Dam will be tested in 2011

Maternal granddam HCM negative at age 6.3

Both parents negative for the MYBPC3-Gene mutation (WSU lab)

Sire OFA "good", maternal grandparents OFA "good" and 'fair"

Several generations of HCM, HD and PKD tested anchestry

Have you ever tried to place one of your best kittens and then change your mind every time somebody is interested? Sounds familiar? Well this is what's been happening with Alaska. We own Alaska's full brother and half brother, and you're terribly right, we don't need her! But boy, are we ever passionate about her quality, size and temperament!

Judith is known in the breeder community (and her poor husband) for the  sad trait of not being able to quit changing her mind until the end of a day - basically by the time when she pulls the blanket over her head. Looks like the decision to keep Alaska is finally firm now :-)
